I have been doing so many family shoots recently and it’s made me fall in love with them. I love being able to photograph families, their dynamics, and the personality of kids. But even more, I love being able to capture families so they can remember this chapter of their lives. Now that I’m expecting my own little, I feel like it is so important to remember these chapters of your lives. And lastly, I’m always impressed with family shoots and kids who do well when taking pictures while cold. Thank goodness there was this fire to keep us warm!
While we were in Omaha over Thanksgiving Break, I had the opportunity to take family pictures for my sister-in-law and her cute family and I loved every minute of it. Their family has grown so much since I first met them (Sam-a was still in the womb), but it has been the best watching all her kids grow up. I’m obsessed with every one of them!
You guys, I’m obsessed with this family. What you need to know right off the bat is that Karlysue and Sam are mariachi singers and they are so insanely talented. They sang my father/daughter dance song at my wedding and I have always, always loved them. And now, they have the most stunning little Mexican beauty ever. She has the THICKEST hair and the bluest eyes and I could stare at her all the day long! So thankful for these two for bringing their baby up the mountains, in the cold, to let me capture them in this new chapter of their lives!
Honestly, I was so impressed with this family. Where we shot, we didn’t really have cell service and we were unable to communicate and they went a little farther than they should have and in trying to get back to the right location, one of their little girls had gotten car sick. On top of that, it was FREEZING where we were shooting. It looked sunny and warm and gorgeous, but it was probably 30 degrees out. Despite all of that, their girls did SO GOOD and were so quick to listen. We just did a mini session, but they were so quick and cute and wonderful. I loved every minute shooting this cutie family!
Okay this family is so stinkin’ beautiful. But I also couldn’t stop laughing this entire session because their little Hono was NOT having it. Taylor was so excited because Hono had just learned how to be a little ham and say “Cheeseeeee” with the cheesiest little smile, but he was cranky during our shoot and I got more scowls than anything. But luckily, he wasn’t too much of a stinker and he was so in love with his parents and still had fun with them and smiled for them! So thankful I was able to capture this gorgeous family. Now to sneak in their luggage and take some pictures of them in New Zealand….
